Jake Miller: Reaching new heights on 'Based On A True Story' EP!
Jake Miller is back with many stories to share!
Pop star and rapper Jake Miller (26), is back with brand new music on his EP 'Based On A True Story'. The EP was released a couple weeks ago and is one of his proudest bodies of work.
After his album Silver Lining in 2018 Miller is back with his 8th EP 'Based On A True Story'. The 6-song ensemble forms a storyline based on his past relationships and life experiences. From his bedroom studio in L.A. Miller has challenged himself into new production heights. As he has written all the tracks by himself and incorporating brand new elements into his music.
‘’The EP is definitely my proudest work so far as a writer and producer. I did things that I’ve never done before in my music. I’ve incorporated live instruments, a live saxophone and a live choir on the last song of the EP. I think really just making the album and EP better than the last is always my goal and I think I definitely accomplished that. These are six of my favorite songs that I’ve made to date.’’, He shares in an interview with Forbes
Breaking down the EP per song. Skinnydip: Miller is going down memory lane on skinnydip. A flashback to his teenage years and growing up.
Nikes: Nikes is based on a long-term relationship that he's gotten out from. The pair of Nikes his ex had left inspired him to create the track. Although he's completely moved on from it. He likes reminiscing the old times.
Wait For You: The upbeat dance track 'Wait For You' is all about wanting to be with someone but not being ready. A "right person, wrong time situation", how he describes it.
London Lights: London Lights is the only song that isn't based on a true story.
From all the sad songs Miller wanted a happy switch up with this upbeat dance song trying out some Bruno Mars/Justin Timberlake vibes.
Nobody Else: Nobody else is all about not being able to picture yourself with someone else. Recording the track has delivered Miller a best friend who plays the saxophone. One of his favorite memories from creating this EP build on friendship.
What If You Fell In Love?: The final track of the EP is one of the most vulnerable songs Miller has ever made. It even Features a live choir. Miller hopes the song gives listeners the courage to make their move on loved ones.
Miller is going on tour this week to promote his new EP during the ''Wait For You Tour'' across the U.S. alongside Logan Henderson and the triplets Just Seconds Apart.
